Information

I recently sat down the other day and realized that I had forgotten about an important part of this business. Keeping in touch with everyone. Sometimes it is as simple as an e-mail, or maybe even a phone call, but there was one thing that I forgot about a long time and it was this blog. I always knew it was there and was a resource that I could use, but a day turns into a week and you know the rest. But recently with the changes and the opening of the new studio I realized that we needed a way to keep everyone informed of what is going on. Sometimes it maybe as simple as a promotion for our blog readers, or just some new photos that will only be for the blog.

And at times we have been known to let the camera focus on us for some photos. And you will see those here, even though I really want this business to be succesful I realize I can't do that unless it is like a family. Everyone associated with 3 River Photography is a member of my family. And just like any normal family we have our disagreements (don't we Tegan). So please use this blog as a way to look in on our family, we may be in different parts of the state, or live in different cities, but I know that if I ever need one of these people they would be there for me in a moment.

So when I tell you that I have the best support staff in the business believe it. There is no way that we could have done so much if it wasn't for these people. So no matter what your connection with 3 River Photography is, whether it be a client, employee, vendor, or friend, know that you will always be treated like family.

Hope you enjoy the 3 River Photography blog, and we look forward to new and exciting changes in the coming year. And for those that like a spoiler alert...New pics are on the way of the new studio...

My First....

BLOG! First off I'm going to catch everyone up on some general business that is going on with 3 River Photography. We are now an LLC! Woo! I'm not sure exactly what it means, but it makes our banner look way cooler! Now if only I could convince everyone to change our colors from the boring red and tan to something fun, like orange and lime green. Guess I'll bring it up at our next board meeting!

Second, we are looking at studio spaces in the Kansas City metro area. We feel that to fulfill our potential, this is a move we must make. But don't think we're just going to forget about you Topeka. Although the exact location of the new studio is still underwraps, it will be great. And we'll let everyone know as soon as its official. Maybe we'll even throw a party or something and invite everyone. Maybe.

Third, there is going to be a new little thing going on at 3 River: Boudior Parties!! What girl doesn't love to get her hair and makeup done, have gorgeous pictures taken of her and her closest friends and even get copies for her significant other or even just herself! This is going to be a great option for bachelorette parties, a groom's gift, or just a girls night out! We will include hair and makeup and advise the girls on wardrobe (even though you can be nekkid if you want!!!) They will also have the use of an experienced model to help with posing as much or as little as the girls want. This party is meant to be fun! Bring your own props and a little bit of creativity and go home feeling sexy!

Well thats about it for now! I'll keep you posted with all the new info! Peace and Love!

Hi guys!

Hello everyone!  I'm Troy, also known as Samantha, and I'm the newest 3 River Photography team member!  I met Chris last October through my talent manager and we instantly hit it off.  Since then, I've worked with him as a model several times and as a sales consultant.  I am now pleased to say that I've quickly worked my way up to Sales Manager.
I have enjoyed working with everyone that has met with us, it's so much fun to work with each and every one of you!  If any one has any questions or just wants to shoot the breeze, please please feel free to email me!  You can find my email on my profile page.
Have a great week!

February 2009 Bridal Expo

Limbs flying.  Scared men.  Loud noises.

Yearning for combat experience?  Try the February 2009 Bridal Expo.  Chris Bryant, myself, and fellow sales consultant Monica together attended the expo held within the Overland Park Convention Center.  We watched this huge room transform into a stage, a chiropractic center (literally), and be filled to the brim with separated booths for each sponsor all within a matter of two days.

The day prior to the expo beginning, we had maybe an hour to set up.  Not super easy.  Things were falling, Waterford Crystal was breaking, dresses were being torn, an entire bookshelf came crashing down into our booth!  Made for an exciting hour :) Finally we got the layout complete and rushed to leave before being locked in by the security team.  The next day Chris arrives at 7 AM to put the finishing touches on everything  and make sure nothing had gone missing in the night.  Then, around 9:30 AM the plan goes into action.  I arrive, tools-in-tote, and prepare myself and the booth for the opening of the doors at 10 AM.  Monica and Chris wouldn't be able to come until close to 11, so I was alone for the beginning of everything.  Between the time the doors opened and Monica arrived, I easily saw close to 400 people.  Now mind you, 400 people in a large room is cramped enough, but 400 people in a large room with hundreds of equipment, furniture, and hardware?  Not an overly enjoyable experience for anyone trying to get anywhere.  I'm sure everyone would begin their statements with, "It was like Disneyland in the Summer, but on crack".  I was handing out flyers and business cards like a professional dealer at a Vegas casino, and loudly proclaiming our wedding packages in a near nonstop ramble.  I have to say, it was quite the adrenaline kick!  haha surprisingly though, we had several people sign up for our raffle, a free photo session for the bride and her maid of honor, within the first hour.  Soon after, Monica and Chris arrived to help out and give some 3rd party insight.  We would all do some undercover recon missions ;) and scoop out the other photography booths.  Everyones reaction: $2,000 BASIC package???....wow.  As far as I know, there were 3 (?) fashion shows at the expo, it was hard to understand the announcer, and we didn't have much time to listen anyways.  Throughout the day we gave out apprx 1,000 flyers and business cards, and had nearly 100 people sign up for our raffle.  It was a productive day, and an enjoyable experience.  My only worry is that somebody, be it the dragged-along husbands to be or the candy and cake relishing children, might have been trampled on or run over :D  Not really, but it wouldn't surprise me, you need a linebacker to get through some of those lines!  Here's to the next one, goodnight everyone!  I'm going to go get a foot massage...
